| Bro. Guy Whitefield joined the Lodge on 20th January 1955 and about 30 years ago became Lodge Newlands own Official Piper. He has missed only one Installation due to a family wedding. Guy is also the Unofficial Piper for Lodge Hozier No. 912 for approximately 42 years. In 1982, Guy was given the honour of becoming the Official Piper for the Provincial Grand Lodge of Lanarkshire Upperward. He officialy retired from this post on 5th May 2006. |

| Past Master Bro. William Dougie Lockhart joined the Lodge on 18th October 1956. He has the reputation of being the Brother who saved the Temple from being sold to Lanarkshire District Council. With his eye for detail, he noticed there was not a two-thirds majority at the vote taken to offer the premises to the Council. The Brethren today are extremely grateful for his timely intervention. |
